三月下旬、東京では桜が満開になってから雨ばかり。
これではすぐに散ってしまうではないか…！
天気は悪いが花見に行ってみようかなどと思いつつ…。ではどこに行こう。千鳥ヶ淵か、新宿御苑か、はたまた飛鳥山公園が良いか。
んで、ふと思い出しました。
桜の落涙の速度。
新海誠監督作品「秒速5センチメートル」！
あの踏切のシーン
鮮やかな桜
ボーイミーツガールの、ほろ苦い恋心。些細なすれ違いこそ少年少女の世界の真実の姿であるような、刺すような鮮烈さ。
それを描き切る新海誠監督のリアリズム、若き感性ほとばしる名作。
前作「雲の向こう、約束の場所」は、明らかにエヴァンゲリオンの影響が大、好きなんだろうなぁという印象を受けますが、しかし「好き」に流されず、バリバリのＳＦでありながらちゃんと新海誠作品としての世界観の表現にブレが無いのは驚異的な事。
ただ、この「雲の向こう〜」以降の新海作品にはロボットアニメ的なハードSF要素は無くなり、より新海作品としての深化が始まる。その方向性が打ち出された作品がこの「秒速5センチメートル」なのではないでしょうか。
その作中ラスト近くに出てくる踏切のシーン。
その踏切は代々木公園の近く、小田急線参宮橋の駅の近くにあるというではありませんか。
ならば今年の桜は5センチメートル桜を見ようと地下鉄千代田線、代々木公園駅に降り立ちました。
すでに沿道の桜は満開。ここから代々木公園沿いに北進して5分ほど。
見えてきました…。「青少年センター前」。
「国立オリンピック記念青少年総合センター」の門前を北に向かって左に曲がると見えてきました。
おお…、
ここか…！
おお、なんという美しい新緑 !!!
桜 ねぇーーー!!!!!
桜、ありませんでした。
踏切のシーンと付近の建物の形状を見比べる限り、ここで間違いなさそう。右にある青々とした大木が桜の木に変更されている演出のようです。
まぁ、そういう事もあるかと思いつつ現地には行ったのですが。
ただ、この代々木公園、参宮橋、代々木八幡、小田急線の沿線を歩いていると、「秒速5センチメートル」の作品世界にトリップするような、不思議な気分にもなります。
参宮橋で新宿行きの小田急線に乗り「秒速5センチメートル」で示された新海誠監督の感性や情念にどっぷり浸りつつ、この後の作品でだんだんと変化を遂げる新海作品の変遷に思いを致すのでありました。

しかし、日本の街は至る所に桜がありますね。
付近に植えられている桜がキレイだったので写真でご紹介します。
で、結局、このあと千鳥ヶ淵公園の桜も見物に行って、こうの史代さんの漫画を思い出したりもしましたので、それも報告させていただきます。
