４「カイケツ小池さん」の感想
1970年4月25日号ビッグコミックに掲載された作品。
常日頃から社会の不正への義憤にあふれつつも、それを正せない自らの非力を嘆く正義漢〝小池さん″に、ある日突然訪れた奇跡。その悲劇の物語のプロローグ。
『スーパーさん』に続くスーパーマンもの作品。こちらは掲載誌がビッグコミックだけに、内容は社会性が増して、絵柄もちょっとだけリアル寄りな印象。
「正義」の実現を意識しつつも、突然超人的な力を得た人間の混乱や騒動をコミカルに描くのは『スーパーさん』と同じですが、テーマ的に違うのは「正義」というもののあやふやさ、危険さが描かれている点。
常日頃から社会の不正に怒り、それを正せない自分の非力さを責める。自分の弱さをごまかすように正義感が肥大化していく小池さん。
こういうことは誰しもあることではないでしょうか。「社会が悪い」、「政治が悪い」、「時代が悪い」、というのはひょっとすると自分の弱さを隠しているだけなのかも知れないし、逆に言うとココロの安定を保つために必要なことかも知れない。
しかしそんな平凡、かつオサラバしたい日常をすべて覆し、自分の考える理想を実現させるほどの力をある日、前ぶれも無く突然得てしまった小池さん。
小池さんはどうなってしまうのか。
小池さんの力は本当に万能。
透視は出来る、空を飛べる、力は無限、自分の意志で他人の命をあやつる事もできる。
まさに『DEATH NOTE』の先駆け、元祖ではないですか！
この『カイケツ小池さん』では、その超能力に右往左往する小池さんがコミカル、かつブラックに描かれる。小池さんの考える正義が、どんどん自分を正当化することだけにすり替わっていく様は空恐ろしいものがあります。
この作品はそういった正義のあやふやさを暗示しながら、小市民的な小池さんの様子の面白さを描くところでやや尻切れトンボ的な終わり方をしている。ただ、この続編にあたる『ウルトラ・スーパー・デラックスマン』では、この後の小池さんが自らの力を介して社会に対しどのように振舞ったかが事細かに描かれる。
『カイケツ小池さん』と『ウルトラ・スーパー・デラックスマン』掲載の間には６年ものインターバルがあるので（『ウルトラ～』は1976年の作品）、最初から続編の執筆を前提にされていたのかは良くわかりませんが、『カイケツ～』で描き切れなかったテーマを『ウルトラ～』ではより深く表現されています。
何というか『ウルトラ・スーパー・デラックスマン』と合わせて読むと、小池さんはどこで何を間違ったのだろうか、人間は非力なままが幸せなのか、正義とは何なのかといろいろ考えてしまいます。
『カイケツ小池さん』だけでは多少分かりづらさがあるのですが、『ウルトラ～』をふまえて読むと小池さんの変遷というものが良くわかる。そういう読み方がおすすめかと思います。
